Rocky Valley Oolong (also called Da Hong Pao) is a variety of the Fujian Wuyi Rock Tea family, presents an exceptionally complicated aroma, best described as floral, fruity, choc-caramel and smoky all at once! This cacophony is the result of the rocky soil, full of precious minerals and nutrients. The tea itself is made from larger leaves, which can be strong and powerful, but the tea is smooth with a golden to brown colour, and a lingering finish. It has been traditionally described as a masculine tea for male due to its exceptional strong taste.
Note from Ms.Cattea: Gongfu brewing method is recommended to make this tea, to achieve the best taste of each cup up to 6 brews.
Brewing instructions: Take 1 teaspoon per cup (more for larger cups and looser leaves); 100°C fresh boiled spring water; 1st brew - 15s | 2nd brew - 30s | 3rd brew - 60s or more. Steep longer for stronger flavour.
